Last year, I often couldn’t keep my word and a few startups I worked with were unhappy with my communication.

I took a 3-month break, did some honest thinking and realized:
 - My pricing was way too low, so I had to work on 5-8 projects a month — and naturally, this many projects affected my communication.
 - I often missed deadlines cause unexpected emergencies would pop up from multiple projects and those had to be fixed first.
 - I’ve been doing it all alone. Contracts, payments, accounting, etc. — ops work took up a big chunk of my time and energy.

The problem was never the skill — it was struggling to manage efficiently.

So I made some changes:
 - Raised my pricing so I can take on fewer projects. This gives me space for better critical and creative thinking, as well time to work on my health.
 - Started adding buffers between taking new projects and it’s been a game-changer — zero communication issues and I’m hitting deadlines earlier than I promised!
 - Cut down my scope of work, now I only do my favorites — designing and building websites. No more design systems, UX or pitch decks.
 - Lastly, hired a virtual assistant to help with ops work(plus some personal things like sending my mum flowers haha!). This helps me focus and do what I do best — think and create.
